Charles Bevan welcomed friends and supporters to celebrate:
- 100 years as a community building
- 40 years since the Petersfield Voluntary Centre moved in
- 10 years since the charity Winton House Centre was formed
In the 16th century the building was The White Hart a busy coaching inn. At that time the property extended from the High Street to all of Waitrose car park, stabling over 100 carriage horses.
Since then, the building has had many uses including a doctors surgery, a residential hostel for girls and a Hampshire County Council Library.
Around 1980 the old Trust was reformed into the Winton House Trust which provided 30 year leases to the Petersfield Housing Association who managed the flats and Petersfield Voluntary Centre an umbrella organisation for a number of local charities.
In 2010 Winton House Centre was formed and took over the role and management of the flats.
