Yesterday, Tuesday 3rd June, we hosted a “thank you” Strawberry Tea party to thank all of our amazing Volunteers. The party was supposed to be held in our beautiful garden, but the weather was not on our side so with a bit of a squash and a squeeze we moved the event inside into the Community Café.
It was a warm and cheerful atmosphere with so many people, musical entertainment from the talented Daniel Spiller who sang for us, an afternoon tea of sandwiches, scones and cakes, all washed down with Pimm’s, or tea if preferred.
Our Chairman, Richard Philips, thanked all of our volunteers, who help in the café, look after the garden, man the information desk as well as run monthly activities such as Bingo and Memory Café.
A message to our volunteers …. Your generosity with your time is greatly appreciated and we enjoy the small opportunities we have to thank and acknowledge all of you hard work. A special mention to Jenny and Marion who made all of the sandwiches and helped, could not have done it without you.
Mike Waddington from Shine Radio is also a Trustee for Winton House and joined us for the Tea Party, listen to his report on Shine Radio:
