The sun shone on the annual volunteer’s tea party, and the celebration of the 12 years of commitment by Amanda Greenlea as a Trustee.
All enjoyed the wonderful gardens now fully recovered from the collapse in January and subsequent rebuilding of the garden wall. Replanting by the garden volunteers in late July/August benefitted from the wet weather we all bemoaned.
The services provided by the volunteers includes The Pop In café, support for Petersfield Voluntary Care Group, signposting advice and support, outings, gardeners our dementia and games afternoons.
Over 40 volunteers enjoyed tea of sumptuous homemade cakes and scones served with tea and Pimm’s.
A quiz followed with tough competition and a lot of laughter, finally won by Jenny’s team.
Excellent musical entertainment provided by Chris and his saxophone who aside from playing the saxophone brilliantly is the WHC treasurer.
Such talents are prolific at Winton House with such a committed team of volunteers, staff and trustees.
Charles (chair) rounded up by thanking all, but especially Amanda for her years dedication as both trustee and volunteer. Champagne and flowers were presented followed by trustee Jenny presenting a jug/vase with written reminders of a jug’s usage at Winton House. We are all delighted Amanda will continue to volunteer.
