The Trustees of Winton House Centre were delighted to receive a cheque from the Lions for £200 to be used for their newly launched Memory Cafe. The monthly cafe is for those living with dementia and their carers and family members, and carers are also welcome to come on their own.
Ric Girdlestone, Chair of the Board, accepted the cheque from Paul Molloy from the Lions Club.
The Cafe runs on the 3rd Wednesday of the month and is a friendly, welcoming space for people to find support, plenty of conversation and meet others. There is no charge, tea and cakes are provided. The Cafe usually has a monthly theme and the next one is on Wednesday 18th May, 3-5pm.
This is one of the ways in which Petersfield is becoming dementia friendly.
